Binnie Media’s Maine stations 107.5 Frank FM, 106.9 Frank FM and 106.3 The Bone aired a special Pay4Play feature encouraging listeners to donate a certain amount of money, and the station would play any song…that’s right any song!!!
This was the first year The Bone took part, and their show kicked off with a request for Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” not exactly a rock song, but anything goes hence the name Pay4Play!
Frank FM has been doing this for eight years, kicking off with Poison “Something To Believe In” setting the tone for the day.
A $25 donation was any song that the stations usually play, $180 and the listener could hear any song that the station might not normally air, and a $500 donation was any song at all!!! Businesses who donated this amount were put on the Business Wall of Fame, and many put out challenges to listeners matching donations!
Most importantly, 100% of the $15,700 raised goes directly to the care, treatment and research at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland!
Thank you to all the listeners, business and volunteers who made this event possible…we appreciate you!
